BillPay

To pay your bill at the Post office just bring it with you, and we’ll handle the rest – free. BillPay is An Post’s free bill payment service. You can pay over 100 bill types free of charge including telephone, gas, cable, electricity, TV Licence, Property Tax, Irish Water, Court Fines and Local Authority Payments.

Banking

Missed the bank – or have they closed your branch? Try the Post Office.

  • AIB: Customers can lodge and withdraw cash and make payments on a AIB credit card.
  • Danske Bank: Personal and business customers can lodge cash. Cheque acceptance and forwarding services available at selected Offices.
  • Ulster Bank: Customers can avail of cash lodgments and payment on a credit card. Cheque acceptance services available at selected Offices.

Foreign Exchange – Dollars and Sterling Commission Free

We sell US Dollars and Sterling – COMMISSION FREE! The commission free Foreign Exchange Service is available in selected Post Offices. That means more money in your wallet when you take a trip to the United Kingdom or America. (Some Post Offices also hold Canadian and Australian Dollars.)

Money Transfer

Do you need to transfer money at home or to abroad? Your Post Office offers a variety of secure methods for sending money nationally and internationally. Remember: If you must send cash by post you should always use a Registered Post envelope!

You can send money nationally by Postal Money Orders and Western Union.

If sending money internationally, you can choose from Eurogiro, Sterling Draft, or Western Union.

Eurogiro is suitable if you are sending money to Europe. You can send up to the equivalent of €1,904.61 for payment in cash. It is a very cost effective method of sending money internationally. This service is carried out at most Post Offices. Transfers are completed within four working days. An Post also operates an inbound Eurogiro service for receipt of foreign payments.

You can also purchase Sterling Drafts which are suitable for making cost effective sterling payments to many countries worldwide. These drafts are available at selected Post Offices. You can send up to £2,000 sterling per transaction. The sterling draft is lodged to the recipient’s bank account.

Western Union Money Transfer is suitable if you need to send money quickly. Recipients pick can up their money in local currency in minutes. Among the benefits of this service is its Global coverage. You can send money to over 212,000 agents, located in over 190 countries. No bank account is required. The recipient picks up money at a Western Union Agency.
